Prop 8 Right-Wings Last Stand

It's so totally unfair that as Obama's numbers rise, right wingers are retreating to California to put everything into passing Proposition 8. If the proposition passes, gay and lesbian people will no longer be able to get married. The California Supreme Court stated in a 4-3 decision that it isn't fair to discriminate against gays and therefore gay marriage is legal. This made it possible for thousands of same-sex couples to get married, and many more to begin planning. It seemed that the tide was finally turning when a poll showed the Yes on 8 people were losing steam. The Supreme Court decision meant something to many people and it began to resonate. Unfortunately there will always be those people that use their religion instead of admitting their ignorance. Because believe it or not after months of gay people getting married, the sky hasn't fallen. No heterosexual rights were taken away, no straight couple's marriages started to crumble. Gay couples have been getting married in Massachusetts for years now and the institution of marriage is still on solid ground. There hasn't been a rise in divorce.
I held out hope that reasonable people were going to prevail, UNTIL.....
The Mormon Church began to pour money into the campaign, as did all other right-wing factions of the Republican party from all over the country. The main focus of the Christian-right is now the passage of Prop 8. In recent weeks Yes on Prop 8 has surged in the polls due to them outspending us by over 10 million dollars in ads, despicable untrue ads, outright fear-mongering ads. They've given up on McCain/Palin and are gathering here with all their resources and time to claim a moral victory. As always at the expense of gays and lesbians.
