A Very Rare Bloom

15 years ago, I spent time at my parent's home in Coral Springs, Florida and took home a piece of cactus from their huge plant growing in the backyard.

It was shortly after when my parent's died and we sold the home.

The cactus has thrived in a completely different environment, but just barely! Over the years, a once very big piece, has slowly deteriorated into a sad shell of itself, no doubt it longed for it's former tropical climate. But it adapted and survived.

This cactus has always been my favorite for it's history.

And now, after 15 years, it has rewarded me!

Her Eyes Are On the Giant Igloo in D.C., an Amazing Story!

Sarah Palin, who is part Yup'ik Eskimo and was born in the western Alaska town of Dillingham, downplays her beauty by sporting intelligent looking glasses, as she excitedly reports she's "so ready" to sit down with Putin...and all the other dirty old men.

Hubby Todd Palin doesn't mind, in fact he enjoys all the attention. He is a snowmobile racer who has won the 2,000-mile Tesoro Iron Dog contest many times and is a veteran oil-field worker and commercial fisherman affectionately dubbed Alaska's "first dude." "He's hot", cooed Paris Hilton.
He's a man who took college courses but does not have a degree, yet can hold his own in sophisticated circles, even hosting a reception for five former Alaska first ladies earlier this month. At home, Todd Palin has juggled the cooking and taking care of the bills with driving the kids to extracurricular activities like basketball and soccer.

Sarah Palin's first dream in life was to be sportswriter, covering hockey and basketball before getting involved in politics.

"They both sound gay", whispered Hilton.

McCain now ahead in Reuter/Zogby poll

How is this possible? I'll tell you how and why.

It's possible because voters have been seeing what looks like a father talking down to his son. It almost reminds me of the early 1970's discussions with my father at the dinner table over the Vietnam war. It always ended with Dad being right. It was very clever of the Republicans to make Obama look like a kid with no substance who can achieve star status.

Why did he even go to Europe? To me, he stood out not because he had the stature of a man ready to be leader of the free world, but because he looked juvenile among the older powerful leaders. I could almost see them giving Obama the don't slouch elbow.

I believe Obama is a brilliant politician as well as an extremely intelligent man who surrounds himself with the expertise he needs to win. Just look at his meteoric rise, the Obama people are geniuses who orchestrated a stunning win against (of all people) the powerful Clinton's!

On the other hand, does anyone remember Howard Dean? He also had this huge groundswell of support. This support became very tenuous when he yelled *YAHOO!!! Is Obama brilliant enough to hold himself back from screaming *YAHOO?

That's all he really has to do. The country has been so dissatisfied with Bush, Bushies cronies such as McCain, and the whole damn Republican party, not to mention their handling of the war on terror, Iraq, and the economy. It's time for the Democrats to heal things. McCain, a Republican, would be a huge step backwards. Most polls, up till now, have consistently echoed that sentiment.

Another thing Obama really needs to do is strengthen his base. We are treading new ground here. It appears the US is poised to elect its first President of African/American descent. People are still hurting about Hillary. Tossing a bone to the Clinton's at the DNC won't heal that wound. I dare say it, but if he really really really wants to be the next President of the United States he better chose Hillary as his running mate.
